Fourth Grading ICT: At Last!

At Last, the last grading period will pass. This means a number of days after, it’s graduation day!

Our topics this grading concentrated on Adobe Photoshop. It excites me a little for it’s my dream to make stunning photos of mine. Parts and different tools of Photoshop were presented. Tutorials were flashed. And most of all, activities where our creativeness are tested were implemented.

Adobe Photoshop is not only for those with bad face or bad body, it is intended to boost the imagination, the creativeness within the user. This grading made the goal for me. Even though it is hard to design a poster using Photoshop, I have made it because of this grading.

The FUTURE ME

One of teacher once said, working is not about on how high the salary is but on how many lives one have touched, one have helped. That’s why she dreamed of being a teacher someday to guide children and to be their inspiration to make their own dreams come to reality. This teacher, with both of my parents which are also teachers give me the strength to build and fulfill my aspirations.

At present, I am a teacher of Mathematics Department at Ilocos Sur National high School. It is my pleasure to work on the school I graduated as one of the second group of Special Mathematics Class. I am living with my parents at Barbarit, Magsingal, Ilocos Sur. I have many friends which are also teachers and lots of student acquaintances. Yes student acquaintances because I don’t let them to be angry to me. I don’t pass any day that they will laugh because it is my way of getting their attention to what I am discussing and also so make them feel that I am always open for any problem especially if their problem is about the topic. I am giving a big part of my salary to my parents.

On the back of being a successful teacher, I have passed a great training. I have opened my eyes to the environment, and what I have seen plus my experiences are what I have assembled to form myself. When I step forward to college life, I got the course Bachelor of Science in Mathematics sa University of the Philippines, Baguio. There, I learned to do things, to face problems, with no one on my back. I trained myself to be a real adult. I have strived hard just to be called a college graduate. And at last, I got the title of Magna Cum Laude. After college, I went back to the school which opened my consciousness to reality, and the importance of teachers.

Any plan that we make, any dilemma that we face, let us not forget to choose what our heart says, consider your jurisdiction, and listen to the small voice of God to your will.

CHANGE

Many say that the world will change what we are, but for me, it is us who change ourselves. Change starts with us.
For the past years, for the past days, I have been very talkative person, a bully, an irritating one. I have been doing those things always until I've been scolded by my friends. Fierce eyes looked at me. It is then proved that it is really I who changes myself.
From that moment, I felt ashamed for what I have done. It is my friends who opened my eyes to reality but in the end, the choice, the decision is still at my hands. Now, I have been doing the best I can to change the flow of my life before the graduation.

Change ourselves for better, not for worse. Start it within ourselves and end to a better person.

KANNAWIDAN!

Kannwidan has been a yearly celebrated festival since Vice Governor DV Savellano started it since 2007. Kannawidan is the Ilocano term for culture and tradition. Here, different contest are implemented like Marching Band contest, Daniw (poem) writing contest and many more. The products of every municipality of Ilocos are also presented here. The most delicious foods are also served. And laslty, to award those who wrote the name of Ilocos Sur on the Wall of Fame.
I am really proud to be an Ilocano. I’ve seen with my two eyes the traditional way of Ilocanos in opening programs. It is an eye opener that we Ilocanos have our own rich culture and tradition compared to other parts of the country.

With Kannawidan, we preserve these golden culture and tradition of Ilocano. Being a part of this celebration is a must especially for the youth because it is still in our hands if we continue giving value to the pride of Ilocos.

New Year, New Me

As quoted from Jesse Jackson “If my mind can conceive it and my heart can believe it, I know I can achieve it”, I am going to be successful in building the new me.

Last 2013, I develop a helter-skelter me. I was not very careful with what I am saying, and also what I am doing, that is why I have hurt the feelings of my classmates. I was also very lazy that I only do assignments and even projects if the deadline is the following day.

This year, I want to be a person like the fireworks glittering on the sky, I want to be productive. I am going to use the time I am wasting to more important. Maybe I am going to use it to train myself on math related topics or maybe discover new talents I can be proud of. I want to be more careful with the words that I say and the things I do.

I am making a very big metamorphosis in me. But I am going to apply what I have read on the internet. Experts say that New Years’ Resolutions can’t be done for one day, two days, or three, it takes time. That is why they suggest that all the resolutions must be subdivided to those days because according to researchers, the more we think of that big thing we will do, the more the chance we will not do that thing. So I am going to gradually change my bad practices.

I know it will be very hard, but I have faith on what Jackson said. As long as I am determined, as long as I believe I can do it, I can achieve it!

Third Grading ICT: More Complex

In this grading, we’ve learned how to make HTML files. Different tags like the brake tag, horizontal tag, italicize tag, underline tag, bold tag, image tag and image background tag were discussed and fully presented. We also learned to make tables and paragraph with these amazing tags.

Our project was really exciting, really fun. We designed a website with this simple tags but with my group we searched and added stunning animations that made our project unique. Every part was spectacular, from Home to the Team Profile. It was a dream come true for me to make my own website.

Overall, my third grading was very good. It made me better on dealing with the Internet, made me understand more how websites are made, and lastly, made me more curious and excited to the upcoming 4th grading.

What Christmas Should Be...

Christmas must be the time for GIVING.
Super Typhoon Yolanda left 5,500 killed, 1175 missing and 21,615 with over 10.3 billion Peso worth of battered infrastructures but brought billions of hands and still counting to lift the victims. Countries around the world have dropped tons of relief goods in Visayas. Establishments provide closed cans where customers can drop their help for the people devastated by Yolanda. Television networks aired the appalling condition of affected areas to persuade viewers to help.
This is the very essence of Christmas – to give, to help selflessly. It is when Jesus was born to start the way of God, the way to God. He sacrificed His life to save our sins, to fill our despair, and to show us that there is life after death.
Now that our brothers and sisters in Visayas are facing the wrath of nature this Christmas, let us give them a hand to stand and to be thankful that Jesus has been born again in every hearts of Filipinos. Let us live out the true meaning of Christmas. Let us live in an oasis of giving and helping, for that is how Christmas should be.
