Beyond a Post

Majority say that fathers are the columns of every home. They give what their children need. They are struggling to work to support their families. But for me, they are more than that.

Father, they are the types which are anxious but elated when we are born.  They were nervous probably because something bad might happen but mainly, they are happy because they now have children, children cared for, children to guide for. When we are brought to this world, they are eager and excited to see us and touch our hands. They want that they first arise us and give us warm embrace.

I know that most, if not, all of us have experienced beating from our fathers. Why did they beat us? It might be because we were very importunate when we were kids. They wouldn’t have beat us if we don’t do bad things. They might not get angry on us if we follow what they are saying, if we do not repeat those mistakes we had. They do this because for them, that's the only way for us to reduce our annoyingness, for us to hear what they are saying, for us to learn.

Our father wants to catch us if we fell, but instead, they help us stand, clean our clothes, and they let us try again. That’s how they trust us.

They are more than posts of houses. Because the trust and love they give us is incomparable. They are  the modern hero for me, for us.
